Snowcastles and Igloos - Igloo Village Kakslauttanen
In the Igloo Village there are 20 igloos - also a honeymoon suite igloo - and an Ice Gallery, where you can see ice sculptures made by artist from Lapland. In the Ice Gallery there is also an Ice Chapel for weddings and christenings. In the Ice Bar you can enjoy hot drinks and feast e.g. on King Crayfish.
Northern lights can be seen from the beginning of September until April. The location of the hotel and Igloo Village is very good for seeing the northern lights, because in the area there are not so many lights. In the area we have also 'the Temple of Aurora Borealis'.
Hotel and Igloo Village Kakslauttanen provides an exotic holiday experience with opportunity to try sleeping in a genuine igloo made of snow. Alternatively, guests may choose to enjoy the polar night in a glass igloo with normal temperature. The resort has a beautiful location amidst the unspoiled wilderness, 300 kilometers above the Arctic Circle. Far away from city lights, the location is also excellent for viewing the northern lights or aurora borealis, whenever they adorn the dark sky with their colorful waves.
